What is the Atomic Energy Society of Japan?
The purpose of this organization is to prioritize public safety above all else, advance academic and technological advances related to the peaceful use of nuclear energy and radiation, promote the utilization and dissemination of the results, and thereby contribute to environmental conservation and social development. , the only comprehensive academic society in Japan.

Membership status
The Atomic Energy Society of Japan is made up of individual members (regular members, student members, and educational members) and supporting members, with approximately 6,150 members. Individual members include people from a variety of industries and fields, including researchers and academics in fields such as nuclear power, radiation, reprocessing, and environmental science, business operators and plant-related engineers, and national and local government officials. Approximately 213 supporting members include nuclear research institutes, universities, electric power companies, plant manufacturers, construction companies, and other organizations.

Management of the academic society
At the Atomic Energy Society of Japan, important matters are deliberated by the Board of Directors, which is made up of the president and other directors in charge of finance, editing, planning, public relations, standards, and Fukushima accident-related activities, etc., and by branches, subcommittees, and related organizations. This has been realized through concrete activities. Members have the right to vote for delegates, and delegates have the right to elect officers. In addition, the activities of the society are generally managed by the secretariat .
